GSM Arena is a web site with reviews and news and specification sheets of smartphones, tablets, and other portable gadgets. Readers can comment and discuss devices and reviews.
As of 2023, there are no signs of the site shutting down anytime soon.
Comments
- Pages
Each device and review has a comment section. Comments are served as static HTML documents and paginated with 25 comments per page. Each page has a URL with page number, so pages can be saved through HTTP GET in case the site gets in danger of shutting down in future.
- Time attributes
The time information of comments from the last hour is shown as a relative time in "minutes ago", from the last 24 hours in "hours ago", and comments from earlier than that as dates. There is no known way to get the exact time stamp of comments older than 24 hours.
- Comment search
Comments of individual devices can be searched on the desktop website, but only one page of results (25 comments) can be seen. The search works through HTTP POST, meaning the URL stays the same and searches can not be archived into a web archive.
- Sorting
On both the desktop and mobile (m.gsmarena.com) website, comments can be sorted by the most recent, by the earliest, and by the most "popular", meaning with the most votes. The sorting also works through HTTP POST and is therefore not archivable through the URL.
